ARTIST BIO
An interest and a passion for drawing started at school and by the age of fifteen I had joined the local art society and was exhibiting at their shows (mainly oil paintings).
A change to graphic art, using pen and ink as well as scraper board, occurred when a professional career in finance took over. Once established I returned to drawing exploring a number of mediums including pastels, wood cuts and watercolour.
Although earning a living in accountancy I was able to find time for designing and painting stage backgrounds, magazine illustration and some cartoon work (although not very good!).
After thirty years I changed career and moved into professional photography (social and wedding work). Being self employed this left little time for drawing which together with marriage and a family left even less time for my first love.
Now retired, and with a grown up family I can be more prolific in my output and can put to great use my eye for “a good picture” (developed whilst a photographer)
Working in pen and ink is a joy and a challenge, discovering new techniques and tackling more difficult subjects – all of course without the pressure of having to make a living!

Thank you for reading this and I hope you find my drawings worth looking at.
